3 Levers That Make Scaling Your Business Inevitable (Most Ignore These)

The 3 Levers That Unlock Growth in Your Business

How I’ve Used These Principles to Break Through Every Plateau (and How You Can Too)

If you want to experience meaningful growth in your business — whether that means finally attracting and influencing more of your dream clients to buy your program…
Or breaking through that frustrating revenue plateau you’ve been stuck at…
Or simply gaining momentum again when you feel like you’ve hit a wall…

There are three levers that you can pull.

When you pull them, growth stops feeling like luck.
It becomes almost inevitable.

I know this because these same levers have pulled me out of every season of being stuck — from my early days scrambling for clients… to scaling past $10K, $30K, $50K, and even $100K months.

And I’ve seen them work across hundreds of service-based and online businesses.

So today, I want to show you these three levers and how to use them.

But first, let’s get something straight…

The Elephant in the Room: Everyone Is Trying to Sell You Something

The internet is noisy.
Every guru out there is saying
their way is the way.

Run ads.
No, go organic.
No, you just need better sales skills.
No, it’s all about funnels.

Sound familiar?

Here’s the truth:
We’re all selling something.

Whether it’s an actual product, a program, a service, or even just an idea… every creator online is trying to influence you in some direction.

That’s not good or bad — it just is.

But it means you’ve got to be aware of the motive behind the advice you’re consuming.

  • If someone sells ads services, they’re going to tell you ads are the magic bullet.

  • If someone sells organic growth programs, they’ll preach organic like it’s the gospel.

  • If someone sells sales training, they’ll talk about sales like it’s the only lever that matters.

None of that is inherently wrong.
But it’s not
truth either — it’s bias.

And if you want to grow your business, you have to learn to separate biased tactics from timeless principles.

Because principles work no matter which strategy you plug them into.

Principles > Tactics

Think of it like health and fitness.

  • You can follow keto, paleo, intermittent fasting, carb cycling — they all can work.

  • But underneath all of them, there are a few unchanging principles:

    • Eat the right amount of calories.

    • Strength train in some way.

    • Get decent sleep.

    • Move your body.

If you nail those fundamentals, you’ll be healthy and fit — no matter which “method” you choose.

Business is no different.

You can run ads.
You can build an organic content machine.
You can go on podcast tours.
You can DM people.
You can host webinars.

All of it works… if it’s built on the right principles.

So today, we’re going to strip things down to the three principles — the three levers — that actually create growth.

These aren’t hacks.
They’re not flavor-of-the-month tactics.
They’re the forces that shape your results at every stage.

Let’s dive in.

Lever #1: Upgrade Your Mind (Before Anything Else)

I’m going to be blunt:
99% of the time, the biggest bottleneck in your business is… you.

I’ve been my own worst bottleneck more times than I can count.
And in every season where I was stuck — $10K, $20–30K, $50K, $100K per month — the breakthrough didn’t come from a new funnel or a new tactic.

It came from upgrading the way I thought.

The B-T-A-R-F Chain

I often use a framework I call BTAR-F when I write copy or coach clients.

  • B = Belief

  • T = Thoughts

  • A = Actions

  • R = Results

  • F = Feelings

It’s not just for marketing.
It’s a blueprint for how we actually operate as humans.

Here’s what I mean:

  • Imagine you have a record month — say $50K in cash collected.
You feel on top of the world: confident, happy, unstoppable.

  • Now imagine the next month tanks.
    Leads dry up. Sales slump.
Suddenly you feel frustrated, doubtful, maybe even panicked.

The feelings follow the results.
The results follow the actions you took (or didn’t take).
The actions follow the thoughts that dominated your mind.
And those thoughts flow out of your
core beliefs.

If you want to change your external world, you have to start with your internal software.

“Your brain is the hardware.
Your mind is the software.
Upgrade the software and the hardware performs better.”

Ask yourself:

  • What do I believe to be true about growing my business?

  • About getting clients?

  • About sales?

  • About money?

  • About my own potential?

Look at your bank balance, your calendar, your day-to-day reality.
They’ll tell you what you really believe.

Every time I’ve hit a plateau, it’s been because I was still running on old beliefs that didn’t fit the next level I wanted.

That’s why mentorship and community are so powerful — they expose you to new beliefs, new perspectives, and help you “borrow” the thinking of people playing at a higher level.

Growth rarely comes from learning a new tactic.
It comes from upgrading the way you see yourself and what’s possible.

Lever #2: Build (or Fix) Your Systems

James Clear said something along the lines of:

“We don’t rise to the level of our goals.
We fall to the level of our systems.”

I might be paraphrasing… but that’s the idea.
And I’ve found it to be true.

If your business feels inconsistent — a good month here, a dry spell there — it’s usually because your systems are shaky or nonexistent.

A “system” is just a reliable way of doing something that gets a consistent result.

Common System Gaps

  • Lead Generation
Are you relying on random posts going viral?
Or do you have a clear, repeatable way to attract new eyeballs — whether it’s friend-requesting and DMing, running paid ads, doing podcast interviews, or something else?

  • Lead Nurture
Are you just “posting and praying” on social media?
Or do you have a planned
content cadence — like the Conversion Content Campaigns we teach — that builds trust and desire over time?

  • Conversion
Do you have a system for guiding people from curiosity to buying?
Workshops, masterclasses, challenges, VSLs — all of these can be structured into reliable conversion systems.

  • Delivery & Retention
Are you winging it with client experience?
Or do you have repeatable processes for onboarding, coaching, community, and keeping clients around?

If you’re struggling to grow, you can almost always trace it back to a weak link in one of these five areas:

Lead Generation → Lead Nurture → Sales → Delivery → Retention

Once you know where the bottleneck is, you can focus on upgrading that system first.

And don’t forget your personal systems — your habits and routines.

  • Maybe you need to remove a habit like constantly checking your phone.

  • Or add a habit like a daily focus block, or meditation to clear your head.

Your systems determine your floor — the baseline you operate at even on bad days.

When you improve your systems, you automatically raise your baseline performance.

Lever #3: Stack the Right Skills

Here’s a hard truth:
You don’t get what you
want.
You get what you’re
skilled enough to earn and deliver.

Every level of growth requires you to develop a new skill (or improve an existing one).

Think about it:

  • You want more leads from your content?
    Get better at
copywriting — writing hooks, headlines, stories, calls-to-action that grab attention and shift beliefs.

  • You want higher close rates?
    Improve your
sales skills — understanding objections, leading conversations, helping people make decisions.

  • You want clients to stay longer and get better results?
    Upgrade your
coaching and delivery skills — guiding transformation, not just giving information.

  • You want to build a team and scale?
    Level up your
    leadership and delegation skills.

I’ve seen this in my own journey:
Every time I wanted to grow, I had to learn something new.

And some skills — like copywriting, communication, and influence — compound everything else.
A small improvement there often means a big jump in results.

If you can close high-ticket clients, you’ll never struggle to make money.
If you can write and speak words that shift beliefs, you’ll never struggle to get attention.

Complacency is the enemy.
The moment you think you’re “already the best coach” is the moment you start declining.

Keep sharpening your craft.
Keep adding to your skill stack.

Putting It All Together

These three levers — Mindset, Systems, Skills — work together like gears.

  • A new belief shifts how you think.

  • New thoughts lead to new actions.

  • Consistent actions become better systems.

  • Better systems create more opportunities to practice and refine your skills.

  • Better skills reinforce your belief that you can do more.

Growth is rarely about adding more complexity.
It’s about finding the right lever to pull next.

Ask yourself today:

  1. Where am I bottlenecking myself with old beliefs or limited thinking?

  2. Which system (or habit) in my business needs the most attention right now?

  3. Which skill, if I improved it, would unlock the biggest jump in results?

Start there.

Final Thoughts

I know a lot of advice online sounds flashy.
But I promise you: it always comes back to these three levers.

Whenever I’ve felt stuck, going back to these fundamentals has gotten me moving again.

And the same can be true for you.

Remember:

Your message matters.
The world needs what you have.
Don’t let an outdated belief, a broken system, or an unlearned skill keep it from getting out there.

Speak it.
Be seen.
Be heard.
Be impactful.
