How a 4-Hour Workday Built (and Sustains) My 6-Figure Coaching Business
The 4-Hour Workday That Built My 6-Figure Coaching Business (And Still Runs It Today)
No fluff. Just the exact routine I’ve used to grow every stage of my business—from my brick-and-mortar gym, to my online fitness brand, to my current coaching company, the School of Impact.
Let’s Talk Truth: You Don’t Need 13-Hour Grind Sessions To Build a Thriving Coaching Business
If you’re working more than 4 focused hours a day, either:
You just love working.
Or... you’re stuck in the busy work trap that’s burning you out and slowing your growth.
I’ve lived both sides.
Right now, I’m writing this from the beach in Punta Cana. I’m here to speak at my buddy JR’s mastermind. And while I came to teach and coach, I always leave these rooms filled with insights. There’s something magical about being around driven humans—when minds and missions collide, something shifts.
And one thing I’ve been reminded of:
You don’t need to do more to grow. You just need to do what actually matters.
Too many coaches confuse movement with progress. They’re overworking, under-earning, and wondering why they’re exhausted.
Let’s change that.
Quick Backstory: Why You Should Listen To Me
I’m not just another talking head.
I built a successful gym in a saturated South Florida market from nothing—literally had under $100 in my account.
I grew an online fitness business to 100+ active clients.
And now I run a coaching company that’s helped over 530+ coaches grow wildly profitable online businesses—without the bro hustle.
And I’ve done it all using this one simple routine.
How I Escaped Hustle Culture (And Built a Business That Doesn’t Burn Me Out)
Back in my gym days, I was the poster child for hustle culture.
Waking up at 4:30am. Working until 8pm. Running sessions, selling, marketing, cleaning equipment—you name it.
And I brought that same grind-it-out mentality into my online coaching business.
I thought:
If I’m not working, I’m not making money.
Sound familiar?
Turns out, that’s not only wrong—it’s a recipe for burnout.
That’s when I stumbled into the 4-hour workday framework.
It wasn’t Tim Ferriss’ exact method. But the principles were aligned.
Instead of working more, I focused on:
Doing the right 4 things—on repeat.
And those 4 things became the foundation of my business (and my clients’ too).
The 4 Core Buckets of a 4-Hour Workday
Let’s break this down.
You can grow a six (even seven) figure coaching business by spending just 1 hour per day in each of these 4 areas:
1. Create (1 Hour)
Content is the fuel that drives attention, trust, and demand.
Every day, I spend at least an hour creating:
Social posts
Client resources
YouTube videos
Lead magnets
Pro tip: Rotate your focus. Some days, it’s content for marketing. Others, it’s assets for client delivery.
But every day—create something.
2. Coach (1 Hour)
Serve your people. Be in your craft.
This might look like:
Answering client check-ins
Running coaching calls
Sending Looms
Reviewing submissions
Coaching is your business. Build it into your daily rhythm.
3. Connect (1 Hour)
If you’re not building relationships, you’re stalling revenue.
Connection can look like:
DMing leads on your Hot or Warm List
Booking podcast interviews
Following up with old prospects
Nurturing new audience members
For me, I had one rule:
Have 10 meaningful convos per day with people who fit my dream client profile.
Connection creates clients. Period.
4. Cultivate (1 Hour)
This is the long game growth bucket.
It’s the behind-the-scenes systems, strategy, and scaling work. Things like:
Building out onboarding flows
Creating new frameworks or curriculum
Developing lead generation systems
Delegating and documenting
You’re not posting about it. But it’s silently setting you up for massive leverage.
How I Structure My Week Now (And How You Can Start Today)
These days, I batch more than I used to.
Here’s what my week roughly looks like:
🧠 Monday + Wednesday: Creation Focus
Writing email campaigns
Filming videos
Building new lead magnets
🎯 Tuesday + Thursday: Coaching Focus
1:1 Co-Creation sessions
Group coaching office hours
🔄 Friday: Flex Day
A mix of connecting, cultivating, or light creation
Some days I work 2 hours. Some days it’s 6.
But every day, I’m intentional with what bucket I’m in—and I never default to busy work.
The Dopamine Trap That’s Killing Your Growth
Let’s talk about the real thief of your time and energy:
Cheap dopamine.
We’ve all been there. Feeling a little anxious… so you pick up your phone.
“Just checking engagement,” you tell yourself.
Next thing you know, it’s been 20 minutes of scrolling, comparing, spiraling.
Here’s what I do now:
I delete social media apps from my phone entirely.
I only download them when needed, with a 5-minute timer.
My wife has the password—I literally can’t log in unless I’m on my desktop.
This one shift helped me reclaim hours of focus.
Try it. You’ll thank yourself.
Your Challenge: Test the 4-Hour Framework This Week
If you’re:
Overwhelmed
Inconsistent
Drowning in busy work
Not making the money you want...
Try this.
✅ 1 hour a day creating. ✅ 1 hour a day connecting. ✅ 1 hour a day coaching. ✅ 1 hour a day cultivating.
Even if you start with 30 minutes in each bucket—you’ll feel the shift.
And as you grow, you can:
Delegate outside-the-bucket tasks to a VA
Automate systems that drain your time
Batch your creative flow to gain momentum
But above all?
Protect your zone of genius like your life depends on it.
Because in this game—it kind of does.
